Homemade Hearty Granola


4 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup virgin coconut oil
1/2 cup ground flax seeds
1/3 cup pure maple syrup or raw honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup coconut flakes
1 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup pumpkin, sunflower & hemp seeds


Step 1 Mix all ingredients together in a bowl
Step 2 Lay out on a flat tray and bake in the oven at 200˚F for 1 hour. Every 20 minutes give granola a toss.
Step 3 Let cool. Place in a glass jar for storage. This granola can last approx. 2-3 weeks.


Depending on your personal preference the nuts and seeds can be changed to your liking. This granola is very versatile, so get creative!! It can also be used as a grab and go snack. Add a few extra nuts and dried fruit or dark chocolate chips and you got a healthy alternative to Trail Mix.
