Beef Tenderloin dusted with Cacao
Ingredients
- 1 – 2 lbs beef tenderloin (trimmed of fat if any)
- 3 tbsp coconut oil, butter or ghee
- 1-2 tsp raw cacao powder
- salt and black pepper
Directions
Step 1 – Pat dry the tenderloin with paper towels
Step 2 – Rub 2 tsp of your preferred oil
Step 3 – Rub on raw cacao powder
Step 4 – Season generously with salt and pepper
Step 5 – Heat a large pan or skillet on medium high heat and add remaining oil
Step 6 – Sear all sides of the beef tenderloin until nicely browned (but not burned)
Step 7 – Place beef into a roasting dish and roast at 350˚F
Step 8 – Once the internal temperature of beef has reached 120˚F, remove from oven and let sit for 15 minutes
Step 9 – Cut into slices.
Try this recipe with a red wine sauce or get more crazy and try it with a raspberry sauce. Serve over a salad or with sweet potatoes and broccoli.
